A REVIEW ON WEAPON DETECTION AND ALERT SYSTEM USING DEEP NEURAL NETWORKS









Abstract

Security is always a top consideration in any domain due to an increase in crime rates in crowd places and isolated places. In order to solve a wide range of difficulties, computer vision is widely employed in detection and monitoring. The need for the installation of video cameras capable of recognizing and analyzing scene and abnormal occurrences are becoming increasingly important in intelligence monitoring as the demand for safety, security, and personal property grows. Leveraging deep learning techniques, this project focuses on creating a safe environment by using CCTV recording as a source to identify harmful weaponry. Here, we propose a Convolutional neural network (CNN)-based Faster RCNN technique for detecting weapons and knives in closed-circuit television (CCTV) video, which has a high speed and accuracy compared to other algorithms.
