To implement a single layer PCB defect detection system using image processing techniques to reduce the mistakes involved in the process of manual defect detection and to reduce the long time taken by the manual inspection. The real time PCB inspection gives efficient result in short span of time. First thing, is to capture the PCB image through digital camera. After few steps in image processing, the captured image is compared with the PCB reference image to detect the defects efficiently using image subtraction algorithm.
