Mall token system

ABSTRACT:-

            At the present time, due to covid-19 situation it is risky to leave home for any purpose. As this disease spreads rapidly from people who are in close contact with the infected person. The precautions of this disease is to maintain social distance and avoid going to crowded places like Cinema hall, Malls, Market, etc. But it is very difficult to manage crowds from these places. In the past few years there have been many shopping websites to avoid crowds from supermarkets. But they have their own pros and cons.

            In this paper, we design a new token system which is able to maintain crowds from crowded places. This technology can help to overcome this problem. This system helps us by allowing a limited number of people in supermart by giving them a fixed time slot. In this we create a mobile app for users. After user login, if the user wants to do shopping first he has to search a supermarket. Before going to the supermarket the user has to book a slot online. Then check if a time slot is available in that supermarket or not. If a user wants to continue he has to proceed for a booking time slot. After the booking is done the system generates the barcode of that supermarket at that time for the user. Then the user has to visit the supermarket in a given time. User has to scan the barcode at the time of entering the supermarket and the timer of the user starts for shopping. User has to finish shopping before the time given to the user. If the user given time is less than 15 minutes, the user gets notification to hurry up. If a user does not complete shopping in a given time he has to pay a fine for taking extra time else he has no fine and user shopping completed.

            From this system we are able to maintain social distance possible on a better scale. The main aim of this system is to avoid crowds by giving a fixed time slot to customers and a system that integrates alert notification via SMS to be sent to customers at the counter on given time.





OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:-

The main objectives of this system are:

  • Slot booking is an efficient technique that makes customers hassle free shopping.
  • It helps the supermarket to track the record of the number of people in the supermarket from the information it gets from the barcodes.
  • Every customer gets a fixed amount of time to complete the shopping as well as the billing process after entering the supermarket.
  • If a customer exceeds the time limit, the customer has to pay a predefined amount as fine.
  • This system will help to a well-organized management of customers and would boost the overall profit of the supermarket.
  • Overall goals and objectives of software is to eliminate time taken in the queue of super markets and increase customer satisfaction.

 

EXISTING SYSTEM:-

In Existing systems, The old token system uses a self-help system, where customers need to visit each store to shop and have to collect shopping bags themselves. Types available in products for the customer to purchase and be satisfied with the result. Usually customers have to visit more than seven to eight supermarkets until they can make up their minds as to which store they would like to shop at. This looks like a huge task of searching for a reliable system based on electronic tokens using a different computer hardware device provided by the customer when the customer arrives at the store. The customer visits the supermarket and goes with the hardware device. As soon as the number of supermarket people is below the system, it sends a message to the hardware device connected by a wireless connection to the supermarket application server. As soon as the supermarket has a few people the message is sent to the hardware device and vibrates the device indicating to the customer that Visiting the store thus reduces customers waiting time. The system saves not only the unexpected waiting time but the payment as shown in the tradition. The proposed approach in this paper may further reduce the time taken to stand in line at the store and at the checkout.

 

PROPOSED SYSTEM:-

As the most of people went to supermarket for shopping and they have to stand in queue for many hours due to covid situation. But it is very difficult for everyone to maintain social distance in the queue. It might be risky for everyone to save yourself from infection. There is a possibility of having infectected peoples in queue and they spread the virus by coughing and sneezing. To avoid the spreading of viruses it is necessary to direct entry in supermarkets without standing in a queue. To handle this situation we design the system that maintains the crowd by giving a fixed time to the customer.

In our proposed system, the admin of the supermarket will set the limit of people in a timeframe who can book the slot. We design the mobile application for the user for the time slot booking system. From the mobile app the user has to book a time slot online. When the user books a slot a Barcode is generated. If a user wants to enter a supermarket he has to scan the barcode at the entry point. As the barcode is scanned the time of scanning will be stored in the database.The timer will start just after the code is scanned. The user gets only 45 minutes to complete the shopping including the billing process. The count of people in the supermarket will be incremented after the barcode is scanned. Even the offline user also gets an entry from scanning of barcode and time will be stored in the database.

The data of online and offline users is stored separately in the same database and only the admin will access the data from the database. Admin will handle the user queries like creating new tokens, generating barcodes and manage time slots. Only admin allowed to create entry login and forgot password option for the entry logins. At the time of billing, the user will be asked his contact number if he/she has booked the slot online or else the token number and the timer will be stopped, fine will be calculated and added to the bill.  The number of people will decrease.

 

MODULES:

  • User Registration: User have to register to become a part of this mall token system.
  • User Login: User have to login himself to book the slot for the shopping.
  • Generate barcode: User has to book slot before shopping and for that he/she has to generate barcode at the server side.
  • Active barcode: User can view their own generated barcode on the app.
  • Reward: User can view their own reward on the app.
  • Admin (On Door): He/she can scan the user’s barcode and session of that user started.
  • Admin (On cash counter): He/she ask for the mobile number and get all information of shopping (i.e. shopping time). If time is beyond limit user has to pay fine else user gets reward. And this admin has also authority to generate barcodes for offline user.

 

 

ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM:-

  • This system will result in reducing the customer’s waiting time in the queue.
  • Hassle free crowd management.
  • Ensures social distancing.
  • Boost in earnings of the supermarket.
  • First, there is no need to stand in the queue for a long time in supermarkets just for entering.
  • The system keeps track of the number of people using the app inside the supermarket.
