AN ANDROID APP BASED CAR SEARCHING SYSTEM IN LARGE PARKING LOT

ABSTRACT:-

            As, the number of vehicles are increased day by day in rapid manner. It causes the problem of traffic congestion, pollution (noise and air). Because of lot of vehicles are there due to that very large Parking Lot built in some countries. World’s largest parking lot is canada’s Edmonton Mall which have capacity of almost 20,000 cars.  There are several disadvantages of large parking lot by considering a Large parking Lot Numbers of car crashes Occur, There are inefficient use of parking space there are lot reasons this is a one Perspective, There are some parkers who have  less sense to find or to get Direction their Car or they may lose in the Whole parking Area, Finding a car in Large parking Lot is also one kind of exception in a busy life  To overcome this problem A Car Searching system based on Android App has been proposed. In this paper A new car searching Approach based on Android for large Parking lot In Our New Approach we have set some QR Codes in each area to find a Parking Spots and Each Parking Spot have Unique Route from the Entrance to reach that spot, we are using Shortest path Algorithm is used to find path that will lead to that parking spot where car is Located , We have created Real time Navigation Method which will be Helpful for parkers for searching a Car which based on Sensors in Smartphone and their Principle. We have tested this approach on Indoor parking Area and the Results shows efficiency of proposed car searching System

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:-

The objectives of the systems development and event management are:

  • Creating an Android App
  • Scan a QR and stored the Parking Location in Database
  • Scan a QR Code
  • Map the Co-ordinate on Offline Map
  • Optimal Shortest path
  • Showing steps using of Android Device’s Pedometer

EXISTING SYSTEM:-

There are some previous papers on searching a car in the Parking Lot where they are mainly adopting a searching technology which go reverse and put four different methods in it Swiping a card , Video Recognition Methods , RFID Card are there to know the Positions and bar Code Printers

Swiping of card will find the Parking areas where, The person who having a card need to swipe it in Card Terminals, There is Disadvantage of this system which is , it will show whole area rather than Only Parking Spot. The Video Recognition method will always record the parking information where the Number Plate or the Location

RFID reader will capture all the information of the each parked car, But the cost of RFID tags are high and Operation is Not Easy

DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM:-

  • Operation is Complicated.
  • Cost of system is high
  • The Card Localization method will localize whole are not a Particular Spot

PROPOSED SYSTEM:-

            In our proposed system, we have shown a New approach based on Android App on smartphones For large Parking Lot, We will set up QR Codes on walls of parking area which can Identify parking lots in that Area, QR Codes means Quick Response Codes they will store some Information.in  binary,  Numeric Or Alphanumeric form, when a user gonna scan a the QR Code there were three types of Information will be stored Parking Lot, Floor , parking Location and Information will be Forwarded to next part of the system

The recorded Information will be stored in the Database. There is offline map was stored in the system already, with using of real time Navigation system the shortest route will be Provided to user which is showing on the Offline Map those data will be stored into the Database in the parking History Query.

When a Person return to the parking lot to take his car he have to scan the code The Android App will decode the location specific QR Code and get the information of ID of parking lot , floor and parking Location then a Mysql system query will give the Parking Map Co-ordinates and then show the Location of car, we are using Dijkstra’s algorithm here to give Optimal Car searching Path with Real time Navigation system. There are lot of sensor are there in the Smartphone with using of Pedometer parker who have less sense of Direction who will get his car Conveniently.



MODULES:-

  • User Registration: User have to register to become a part of this Car parking system.
  • User Login: User have to login himself to check the availability of slot in parking lot.
  • Book slot: Book slot for parking in parking lot. After booking QR code will be generated.
  • View QR: View QR code if generated.
  • Scan: QR code scanner.
  • Wallet: Update balance when slot is booked.
  • View slots: View slot locations on Google map.
  • Admin Login: Add slot, View slot, update profile, remove slot.
