INTRODUCTION:-

In today’s scenario cleanliness and hygiene are of utmost significance and are to be taken care of. Women in India are still shy and hesitate in buying sanitary napkins from shops, medicals and other stores. Sanitary napkin pads play an important role in maintaining the menstrual health in women and also have a psychological role in the development of women empowerment. The cost of napkin pads has always been higher and has not been affordable for most of the users. This has led to use of cheap and unhygienic clothes resulting in health problems. Though government and NGOs are trying for manufacturing low cost pads the reach has been less among rural population. Even for urban population, though the cost might be affordable, the timely availability is a problem. The problem becomes more acute for people in transit. The alternative suggested has been providing Sanitary napkin vending machines in schools, colleges, hospitals and public places. Though this has been largely welcomed and appreciated, the disadvantage has been that of the replenishing of the machines when stocks get depleted. A vending machine aims to provide required product or the service to the customer with certain ease, wherein not much effort is required. This research work aims to design a pad vending machine with an option of payment using QR code to make the system much more efficient and reliable than the existing systems present in the Indian market. The system is divided into two parts, first being the working of the machine and second being the mode of payment. It is noticed many times that due to unpredictable menstrual flow women tend to face a lot problems. To overcome this problem, a pad vending machine is proposed with certain advancements through which women can help themselves in the stated circumstances. In our system we will be making a Digital Sanitary napkin vending machine which will be operated with help of an app. It is a Self-Service Vending Machine used for dispensing Sanitary Napkins. Proposed Vending Machine has loading capacity of 30-50 napkins with display for showing Napkin Stock availability. Every woman will be provided with unique QR code on the app in her phone and they need to scan it in the camera attached to the dispensing system and the sanitary napkin will be poured out. This overcomes one of the major drawbacks of unavailability of sanitary napkins in the washroom during emergency. During the times of COVID-19 hygiene is considered as the major issue. So to overcome this problem of women hygiene we are inventing a sanitary napkin system that can be installed in the washrooms of prestigious institutes, public washrooms etc. A vending machine is an automated machine that provides a particular item to the consumer after each scan they have made through QR code.There are vending machines for the same in the past but in those we need t add a coin for getting a sanitary napkin and the major drawback in the past system is that the coins can be operated or duplicated in a fashion such that napkin can be obtained without the coin. In order to tackle this problem and to provide round the clock quality “Digital Sanitary Napkin Dispenser” is used. Every month each woman will be provided with two free ejections of sanitary napkins and for more the girl would need to pay for the same. Considering the current scenario of COVID-19, we are also adding additional elements to our dispensing system, that is small pouches of hand sanitizer and hand soap. They will also be made available.   Every single unit of Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine will directly benefit between 10 to 200 users per day based on the type and capacity, not to count the benefits to the environment and society. This Machine is app based QR Scanning, power bank operated machine. During this the QR scanner mechanism is programmed by the detection of IR sensor. The unit is additionally supplied with automatic power backup just in case of equipment failure. The unit is supplied with physical inspection window for availability of Napkins. The unit can be wall mounted. The machine contains a storage capacity of fifty Napkins. Our slot machine provides a High solid state Electronic Technology with mechanical advancement. It mainly incorporates single column of horizontal spring which loads the products. The spiral is operated by the low torque, high load DC   motor, controlled by the Arduino which is programmed to sense the impulse of the QR code been scanned. This mainly constitutes of a really simple mechanism of ‘scan and eject’.

 

APPROVED OBJECTIVES:-

Our main contributions will be:

  • to provide affordable hygienic sanitary napkins which can be easily made to fit at any place without acquiring large amount of space.
  • The vending machines were being installed to make sure a good and convenient mode for any time access to the sanitary
  • The aim is to encourage safe and hygienic sanitary practices among the ladies across the

 

 

PROPOSED SYSTEM:

The well implemented project needs a plan of action and specified steps for its completion. The work of this project started with the installation of the application developed. The application generates a unique QR code for each individual. The code can be scanned with the help of the cam scanner installed at each vending machine and motor unit and sanitary napkin dispensing unit will be activated. The motor rotates clockwise and the sanitary napkin will dispensed out and collected. This will be followed by updating the information of the user in the data base as only two free napkins shall be permitted to each individual per month and the cycle repeats.

 

  • The body / frame of the vending machine is made of Mild Steel.
  • The spring is connected with high powered geared DC motor
  • The MS sheet will hold the spring and sanitary
  • The DC motor of 200rpm is connected to the spring and micro-controller
  • The micro-controller board is are connected with IR
  • The IR sensor is implemented at the sanitary napkin dispensing
  • The app is developed in Kotlin and database used will be
  • Cam scanner used will be ESP 32 CAM

 

MODULES:

  • User Registration: User have to register to become a part of Application.
  • User Login: User have to login themself to access in Applicaion.
  • Qr Code Generate: After login QR code Generated using python.
  • Hardware: coil , L298 motor driver , raspberry pi, 12 volt supply.
  • Scan QR code: system scan that QR code that generated in android app.
  • Payment method: after scanning QR code in app ask for payment option. We use razor pay for payment method.
  • Result: after payment that motor will rotate and sanitary pad dispatch.
